Gregory S. Morehouse

ESCANABA — Gregory S. Morehouse, 73, passed away unexpectedly in his Escanaba home on April 21, 2024 of natural causes.

Preceding him in death are his father, Russel Morehouse; his mother, Lois “Carolyn” (Hurd) Young; and beloved Grammy Shoch.

Greg is survived by his four children, Tina Harris Jandron (Edward L Terres), Mark Morehouse, Jessica (Marshall Jr) Iraneta, and Kara Morehouse; his sisters, Linda (John) Lewandowski and Kathy (Randy) Strasler; grandchildren, Sydney (Jake) Wilson, Clayton Smith, and Zachary Morehouse; and great-grandson, Caleb Wilson.

Greg graduated from Pendleton High School in 1968 and entered the Marine Corps soon afterwards. He served his country in the Vietnam War and was proud to have been a Marine. After his service to our country, Greg worked at American Playground Company in Anderson, Ind. and Nahma, Mich. Greg was then employed at Harnischfeger in Escanaba before becoming a self-employed contractor/carpenter. He enjoyed working for himself, mostly independently, as it allowed him the freedom and flexibility he needed.

Greg loved spending time with his family, fishing, target shooting, riding his motorcycle (despite his natural clumsiness), his cat that he took in as a stray, and most of all music from the 60s and 70s. He was extremely proud and fond of his children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 26 from 2 to 3:45 p.m. at the Skradski Family Funeral Home 118 S. 12th Street, Escanaba. Military Honors will be presented at 3:45 p.m. by the Delta County Veterans Council. A luncheon will follow at St. Stephens’ Episcopal Church, 500 Ogden Avenue, Escanaba.
