Donna Schmieder

She was born on November 7, 1938 in Escanaba and attended Escanaba schools. In 1956, the former Donna Berthaume married James Ottensman and together they raised four children.

A lifelong resident of Escanaba, Donna was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. She loved going to the casino, cooking, knitting, crocheting and often would sew and make beautiful clothing for her children when they were younger. She loved her family and friends and always enjoyed daily calls with them.

Among survivors include her children, Marie (Gary Pultz) Ottensman-Pultz of Littleton, Colo., Michelle Ottensman of Gladstone, and David Ottensman of Colorado; grandchildren, Natalie, Melanie, Chelsey, Cody, and Jayson; three great-grandchildren; brother, Wayne Berthaume of Escanaba; and two nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 17 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S. 13th St., Escanaba, MI 49829. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with Rev. Timothy Ferguson officiating.

Entombment will be in the Gardens of Rest Mausoleum.
