CORNELL — Bonnie Jean Sanville, age 80, of Cornell, Mich., passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba. She was born July 1, 1943, in Escanaba, Mich. and was the daughter of Richard and Erma (LeDuc) Cool. Bonnie graduated from Escanaba High School in 1961 and then worked at the People’s Drug Store in downtown Escanaba. The former Bonnie Jean Cool married Robert “Butch” Sanville on August 1, 1964 in Escanaba and he preceded her in death on August 7, 2007. Bonnie was a strong woman of faith, and sharing her love for family and her faith with others, was very important to her. She enjoyed riding her bike and attending the churches she loved, Grace Church in Gladstone and the Watson Bible Chapel. Bonnie was always there to serve, working at the Cornell Town Hall cleaning, cutting the grass and serving on the election board. She was always ready to help at the Grace Church funeral luncheons, was the official “taste tester” and the lunch committee always enjoyed her good sense of humor.

Bonnie is survived by sons, Ronald (Sherrie) Sanville of Cornell, Jamie (Trina) Sanville of Gladstone; grandchildren, Nathan “Tades” Sanville, Neil Sanville, Leah Sanville, Olivia Parker and Sophie Vogelmann; sisters, JoAnn “Gub” (Dave) Wallin of Escanaba, and Carol (Joe) Wolfe of Escanaba, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by grandson, Luke Sanville, and brother, James Cool.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Bonnie Jean Sanville will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Potes officiating. A luncheon will be served following the funeral services at Grace Church in Gladstone. Burial will take place in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery, The Anderson Funeral Home is assisting the Sanville with the arrangements and online condolences can be sent to the family at www.andersonfuneralhomes.net.
