GLADSTONE -- Cheryl Lee Marie Phalen, age 75, of Gladstone, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at her home.
Cheryl was born on December 13, 1948, in Escanaba, the daughter of Robert and Betty Jean (Waeghe) Young. She grew up in Gladstone and was a Class of 1967 graduate of Gladstone High School. She married David C. Phalen in 1968 and they created many wonderful memories. Cheryl also enjoyed crocheting and knitting, going to camp, riding their Harley. She also was a very talented cook and baker, known for hosting wonderful holiday dinners. Most of all, she cherished her family and her pets. Cheryl was simply the best.
Cheryl is survived by her loving husband, David C.; sons, David A. Phalen and Robert Phalen; brother, Jim (Terri) Young; sisters, Kathy (Jay) Pepin, Luann (Archie) Henderson, and Bobbi (Derrell) Coates; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law David and Elaine Phalen, daughter Dayna Phalen, daughter-in-law Becky Phalen, granddaughter Cynthia Lee, and brother-in-law Jay Pepin.
