Anne Shepeck McLeod

OKEMOS — It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Anne Shepeck McLeod. Anne left this world on March 14, 2024 and joined her Savior and family that has waited for her in Heaven. Anne was born to William and Anna Shepeck in Escanaba, Michigan on February 19, 1931. She graduated from Escanaba High School in 1949. Upon graduation, she moved to Chicago to attend Catherine Gibbs Secretarial School. After completing her training, Anne moved to Lansing, Michigan where she met and married George McLeod (deceased). From that union came six children. Anne was a secretary for the Fowlerville Middle School for many years, upon retirement 1985, Anne moved to Okemos to be closer to her children.

Anne is survived by her children, David, Cynthia Bowling, Thomas, Matthew, and Pete (Tonia); daughter-in-law, Julie McLeod; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael; her parents; brother, Bill Shepeck, and sisters, Patricia Lewis and May Shepeck.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 19 at the Gorsline Runciman East Lansing Chapel, 1730 E. Grand River Ave. East Lansing, Michigan from 3 to 7 p.m. with a Rosary being prayed at 6 p.m. The funeral will be Wednesday, March 20 at Gorsline at 11 a.m. with Father James Eisele officiating; the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service. Anne will be laid to rest in Glendale Cemetery, Okemos.

Special thanks to Everlyn Hill who gave our mother loving care and support the last two years and to Sister Pat Newhouse who gave our mother a much valued friendship and a continuous connection to her faith that gave her comfort and strength during difficult days. Also special thanks to Hospice of Lansing, Stoneleigh House for their kindness and compassionate care.
