Paul Barry McKenzie
BAY CITY — Paul Barry McKenzie, age 66, passed away on January 29, 2024 from complications of a hard-fought battle with MS. Paul was born in Manistique, Michigan on August 24, 1957. He graduated from Escanaba Area Public High School in 1976. After graduation he enlisted in the Navy and proudly served his country for four years. He then attended Northern Michigan University and graduated with a degree in business. Paul worked for over 25 years in the insurance industry.
Paul loved the outdoors and enjoyed the time he spent in Upper Michigan hunting and fishing at the family hunting camp.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Erin (Chet) Smith of Essexville, Michigan, and his son Tom McKenzie of Kalamazoo, Michigan; mother, Nina Hamlin of Appleton, Wisconsin; brother, Michael (Wanda) McKenzie Gulliver, Michigan; sisters, Linda (Shawn) Curran of Appleton Wisconsin and Lisa (Kevin) Clark Cooks, Michigan. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, William McKenzie; stepmother, Janice McKenzie and stepfather, Peter Hamlin.
A private family graveside service is being planned for a later date.
