Theresa M. Koster

She was born on July 16, 1929 in Escanaba, daughter to Joseph and Georgianna (Hebert) LaFave.

On February 26, 1949, Theresa married George Koster at St. Joseph Church in Escanaba. He preceded her in death in April of 2014.

The greatest joy for Theresa was being with her family, reading, playing cards, and traveling.

Among survivors are her six children, Mary (John) Sherman, Lori (Andrew) Koster, Sandra (Richard) Detry, Gigi (William) Overholt, James (Nancy) Koster, and Thomas (Carol) Koster; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Margaret; a granddaughter, Kimberly Sherman; and her sisters, Marie Anderson and Elsie; and brother, Francis.

Visitation will take place on Monday, January 15 from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Anne’s Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Fran DeGroot officiating. A meal will be served in the fellowship hall following mass.

Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Cedar Hill Assisted Living and U.P. Health System Home Care and Hospice for the constant and loving care they provided to Theresa.
