Lucille Marie (LaFave) Hoffman

POTOMAC, Md. — Lucille Marie (LaFave) Hoffman, age 102, passed away in her sleep on January 13, 2024 at Brookdale Senior Living in Potomac, Md. Mrs. Hoffman was born in Escanaba and lived a full and happy life with her husband of 70 years, Stanley R. Hoffman. They raised three children and lived in Michigan, Wisconsin, Virginia, South Carolina and Maryland. Lu was a devout member of her church and she enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing, socializing, playing cards and especially traveling. In retirement, she and Stan had many travel adventures in interesting places in the U.S. and abroad. She is survived by her children, Julie (Hoffman) Young (Jerry) and Kay Hoffman, as well as her brother, Joseph LaFave (Dorothy), five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Stanley R. Hoffman, her son, Gary F. Hoffman and her sisters, Elsie, Marie and Theresa and brother Francis. She will be interred with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery. Lu was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was kind and generous and she will be missed.
