Donald F. Miller
ESCANABA — Donald F. Miller, age 98, former Escanaba resident passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Sylvan Crossing in Jefferson, Wis. He was born August 23, 1925 in Escanaba, Mich. and was the son of Percy and Margareth Miller. Don attended Escanaba High School before enlisting in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He served from October 15, 1943, until he was honorably discharged on March 22, 1946. He married the former Ellen “Pinky” Flath and she preceded him on June 10, 1987. Don worked with his father-in-law, Richard Flath, in the vending service business and the Popcorn Wagon, while living in Escanaba. He later lived in Milwaukee, Arizonia then moving back to Wisconsin in 2012. He married the former Irene Glen on February 23, 2004 in Arizona.
Donald is survived by his wife Irene; five stepchildren, Glen, Debra, Scott, Diane, and Richard; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Paula Marvic of Escanaba.
Visitation will be held from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Friday, January 26, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Donald F. Miller will be held at 11:45 a.m. Friday at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Father Rick Courier from St. Thomas Catholic officiating. American Legion Services will be conducted by the Delta County Veteran’s Council, at noon Friday at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will take place in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
