Rosalie ‘Rose’ C. Kane

ESCANABA — Rosalie “Rose” C. Kane, 90, of Escanaba, passed away early Wednesday morning, December 27, 2023, surrounded by her family at home.

She was born on November 14, 1933, in Lathrop, Mich., daughter to Joseph and Olivine (LaBresh) Frossard. Rosalie was raised in Schaffer and attended Bark River Harris School.

On January 19, 1952, Rose married Robert “Bob” Kane at Sacred Hearth Church in Schaffer. He preceded her in death in 2002. They resided in Escanaba and lived in the same home for 65 years, where they raised their children.

Rose loved visiting with family and friends around the kitchen table. She had a special place in her heart for her dogs and treated them like babies.

She was a member of St. Joseph and St. Patrick Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra (Bernard) Wiltzius; grandchildren, Jeff and Curt Wiltzius, Stephanie (Erik) Simonsen, and Heather Khollman; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Edna Frossard; sisters-in-law, Donna and Wanda Frossard; and brother-in-law, Earl Juneau.

In addition to her parents and husband, Robert, she was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Kane in 2020; granddaughter, Shannon Carlson in 2020; daughter in law, Colleen Kane in 2023; sisters, Theresa, Joyce, and Helen; and brothers, Victor, Joe, and Jim.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 2 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S. 13th St., Escanaba. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with Rev. Timothy Ferguson officiating.
