Roger G. Larson
GLADSTONE — Roger G. Larson, age 87, of Gladstone, passed away Monday, December 4, 2023.
Roger was born January 1, 1936, in Cameron, Wis., the son of Lloyd and Ruth (Anderson) Larson.
Roger was united in marriage to Lucille Ewald on November 19, 1957. Together they raised their three daughters. While working on the boats Roger and his family relocated to the Upper Peninsula.
Roger worked for the Soo Line as a conductor up until his retirement. He also spent several years scrapping metal.
In earlier years Roger was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and trout fishing. He also enjoyed trapping and coin collecting.
Roger is survived by: daughters, Sue Robitaille of Gladstone, Mich. and Nancy Dillabough of Escanaba, Mich.; two brothers, Ronald Larson of Milwaukee, Wis. and Robert Larson of Minong, Wis.; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Jeremy) Oullette, Justin (Katie) Godfrey, Jason (Ashley) Robitaille, Nathan (Ashley) Robitaille, Nicole Bower, Ruth Larson and Randy Dillabough; 25 great-grandchildren, three-great great-grandchildren and one on the way; two sisters-in-law, Ilene Larson and Caroline Amundson; one son-in-law, Bill Yardley; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents and wife, Lucille, Roger is preceded in death by daughter, Karen Yardley and siblings, Dick Larson, Lorraine Gillette and Lil Carley
Family will receive friends on Friday, December 15, from 2 until 4 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services will follow visiting hours at 4 p.m. Roger will be laid to rest in the Pine Grove Cemetery next to his beloved wife in Cameron, Wis.
