Janet Marie Klumpp

MANISTIQUE — In the early morning hours of December 17, 2023, Janet Marie Klumpp went into the loving arms of our Lord peacefully after a three year battle with dementia.

She was the youngest of three children of James “Al” Miller and Frances M. (Ward) Miller. Janet entered the world on July 31, 1949. She was raised in Standish, Mich. and attended Standish Sterling Schools and to further her education, she attended the University of Olivet and Lansing Business University.

In 1969 she met her future husband Dr. Edward Klumpp. They were married in 1970 and both attended Palmer College. She enrolled in the chiropractic technician program and graduated Magnum Cum Laude in March of 1970.

Janet was blessed with two sons. During their formative years, she was very involved in their activities. Her favorite sport, which she also participated in, was hockey. She was an active fisherman and often out-fished her husband when it came to catching perch. She was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed her time in the woods gaining great peace and solitude from what nature had to offer.

Janet had a great interest in education and was the first to graduate college in her family. With this in mind, she requested that all donations in her memory be designated to the scholarship fund at St. Francis de Sales of Manistique, Manistique Area Schools, or Palmer College of Chiropractic Michigan fund.

In the early years she was active in youth activities in Manistique; baseball, soccer, and hockey. Her involvement in hockey resulted in some very interesting times with many new friends and much traveling. Janet is preceded in death by her mother and father, her brother James A. Miller and her sister Jane I. (Frances) Romanic. Janet is survived by her husband of 53 years of marriage, Dr. Edward Klumpp; her sons Edward A. (Mandy) Klumpp and Jonathan E. (Laura) Klumpp; three grandchildren, Olivia, Patrick, and Connor.

In accordance with Janet’s wishes and to accommodate schedules, holidays, and living locations of family and friends, a Celebration of Life mass will take place in the spring of 2024. The date, time and location will be announced by the family at a later date.

Fausett Family Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
