Mary Alice Weber

MANISTIQUE — Lifelong Manistique, Michigan native, Mary Alice Weber, 90, died peacefully on November 3, 2023 with her family at her side. She was born Mary Alice Wilson on February 27, 1933 to Amedee Wilson and the former Leah DeMars. Mary Alice grew up in a large active family of six siblings, Jack, Joseph, Joyce, Faye, Sally, and Janet. Except for approximately two years in Palmer, Alaska where her parents homesteaded, she lived in Manistique for the greater part of her life.

On June 10, 1950, Mary Alice married the love of her life, Gerald M. Weber in Waupaca, Wis. Together they had 10 children, Gerald, Karen, Frank, Sally, Robert, LuAnn, Donald, Michael, Steven, and William. Mary Alice and Gerald were married for 58 years before his passing in 2008.

Mary Alice and Gerald loved to travel, especially across the United States. One their most favorite destinations was the Rio Grande.

With 10 children, Mary Alice was busy! She loved to cook and bake and was excellent at both. She liked canning and brewing wine too. Knitting, crocheting, making rugs, quilts, curtains and so much more were second nature to her. Keeping her children in hats, mitts, scarves, sweaters, and more was a labor of love. She was the best mom.

Mary Alice loved playing cards, especially cribbage. Camping at Merwin Creek, participating in the Wednesday night ladies bowling league, and finally, she loved going for walks enjoying the fresh air.

Mary Alice is survived by sons, Gerald F. (Janie) Weber, Frank D. (Rosanne) Weber, Robert J. (Jill) Weber, Donald (Gail) Weber, Steven (Becky) Weber and William (Denise Barton) Weber, all of Manistique; daughters, Karen (Jerry) Terrian of Gulliver and Sally A. Weber and LuAnn (Wayne) Vallier of Manistique; 30 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Alice was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Weber; son, Michael; sisters, Joyce Bullard and Faye Mattord; grandchildren, Joseph Weber, Carrie Weber, Jody Terrain, and Lisa Weber.

Memorial donations in honor of Mary Alice may be made to the family for future designation. They may be sent to the family at Fausett Family Funeral Homes at 211 Arbutus Ave., Manistique, MI 49854.

Visitation and funeral service will take place at Fausett Family Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 8, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service beginning at 12 p.m.
