Iola M. Feathers

RAPID RIVER — Iola M. Feathers, age 95, of Rapid River, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Bishop Noa Home surrounded by her family.

Iola was born on July 5, 1928, in Rapid River, the daughter of Guy and Lillian (Johnson) Wellman. Iola was raised in Rapid River. On December 23, 1950, Iola was united in marriage to Henry Feathers and together they raised their family in Rapid River. Iola worked as a cook for the Rapid River School System for 16 years before her retirement in 1993. She loved to cook and was known for her bread and sweet rolls. She also loved knitting and camping with her grandkids all summer long in the Twin Springs Campground. She will be missed by so many, including her beloved dog Gracie.

Iola is survived by her children, Dwayne (Mary) Feathers, Mary (Gary Goad) Feathers, Ellen (Fred) Kossow, Elaine Willis, and Lola Feathers; grandchildren, Joe (Erin) Feathers, Tim (Tracy) Feathers, Michael Williams, Jeremy (Cindy) Williams, Christopher Willis, Taylor (Stacie) Willis, Kyle Kulack, Rachel (Seth) Mecklengburg, Kaitlin (Kurtis Qhari Rodriguez) Kulack, Olivia Feathers, Elizabeth Johnson, and Ed McDaniel; great-grandchildren, Mason Feathers, Kinsley Feathers, Cameron Feathers, Charley Wager, Katrina Chouinard, Christina Williams, MaKayla Williams, Avery Williams, Brooklyn Williams, Gregory Williams, Peyton Williams, Leiland Williams, Aaleiyah Willis, Kaitlyn Willis, Desiree Willis, Liam Kulack, Ella Kulack, Kayson Kulack, Samuel (Lizz) Veatch, Carly Bebo, Tim Clement, Alex McDaniel, and Sadie (Ethan) Cram; great-great grandchildren, Blake Pepin, Zaden Veatch, Nikkolas McDaniel, and Colton Cram.

Iola was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Henry Feathers, sisters Myrtle Beauchamp, Benine Fox, Wilda Anderson, and Lillian Wipple, son Greg Feathers, daughters Susan McDaniel and Carol Feathers, sons-in-law Leroy Willis and Edgar McDaniels, grandson Dwayne Feathers Jr., granddaughters Lisa and Amanda Willis, and great-grandson Bradley McDaniel.

Family will receive friends on Monday, December 4, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services honoring Iola will begin at 5 p.m. at the Rapid River Congregational Church with Pastor Bill Rafuse officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church hall.
