Ron W. Miaso
PERKINS — Ron W. Miaso, age 74, of Perkins, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, Wis.
Ron was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 28, 1949 and was raised in a Polish immigrant neighborhood. He was the son of John and Angeline (Zelek) Miaso. Ron graduated from the University of Detroit, with a degree in mechanical engineering, where he made many lifelong friends. He went on to acquire a master’s degree in finance/management at the University of Michigan. Ron worked as a senior finance manager for Chrysler where he successfully managed a half billion dollar operating budget while supervising and mentoring some of the finest MBA talent from the top business schools. He was awarded the vice president’s award at Daimler Chrysler, which saved a documented one hundred million dollars in developmental costs over a three year period. He worked for Chrysler for 30 years before retirement.
Ron met Jacquie (nee Mather) in 1985, and they were united in marriage in 1993. In 2002, the couple relocated to the Upper Peninsula not only because they like cold weather and snow, but also because they loved the people. Ron eventually grew bored with retirement, and together he and Jacquie opened Delta Business Solutions which provided QuickBooks training, bookkeeping and payroll services for small businesses. Ron taught a variety of business seminars and college level business courses. In 2009, Ron and Jacquie entered into a five-year contract with Michigan Works and ran the offices in the Keweenaw area. After that, Ron became a consultant for the City of Gladstone for Economic Development and the DDA for five years. It grew to be his favorite job of all time. He was one of the original founders and owners of D&D Dog Dynamics and was especially proud of the company’s success with training K9 dogs and their handlers. Ron fully retired in 2022 so he could enjoy life. He loved his morning coffee group that meets at the Dew Drop and rarely missed attending that.
Before moving to the U.P., Ron and Jacquie were avid boaters and Ron was a highly skilled captain. Their boat was always the first in the water every spring, and the last out of the water every fall. He was a Green Bay Packers fan and shareholder, and a highlight of his life was shaking Vince Lombardi’s hand. Ron was a gourmet quality cook, always experimenting with new recipes. Ron was a kind, intelligent man who will be missed by so many. Ron is survived by his loving wife, Jacquie, sister Donna (Paul) Cavallaro, all of his rescued animals including dogs Dash, Reva, and Mitzi and beloved cat Bree, as well as numerous family members across the country.
