Hope Amanda Deneau

RAPID RIVER — Hope Amanda Deneau, age 70, of Rapid River passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.

Hope was born July 7, 1953 in Rapid River, the daughter of Lester and Beatrice (Wisswell) Duncan. She was involved with the Rapid River American Legion Post 301 Auxiliary for many years. She took great pride in sending her husband, Roger, to Washington DC on the Honor Flight. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, her Pepsi in a glass bottle and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Hope is survived by her daughters, Tammy Ann Julian of Houston, Texas, Connie (Sam) Johnson of Carney, Mich. and Jennifer (Rick) Gagnon of Ford River, Mich.; grandchildren, Trevor (Marie), Tiffany, Brent (Sabrina), Trent, David, Jared, Paul and Katie; five great-grandchildren; her brother, Lester (Pat) Duncan of Cornell, MI, nieces, a nephew and her cat, Vicky.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Deneau, her parents and her brother, Daniel Duncan.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, November 1 at 2 p.m. at the Congregational Church in Rapid River. Hope will be laid to rest in the Rapid River Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to the family.
