Richard Kenneth Heikkinen
WATSON — Richard Kenneth Heikkinen, age 59, of Watson passed away Saturday, September 23, 2023 at U.P. Health Systems – Marquette. He was born October 23, 1963 in Chicago, Ill. and was the son of Kenneth and Marianne (Bischke) Heikkinen. Rick grew up in California and was employed as an auto mechanic in California. In 1985 he moved to Watson and worked at Usher’s Sawmill and did logging with his father Ken. He later worked at Coplan Iron and Metal in Escanaba as a torch operator. Rick enjoyed hunting, racing stock cars and motocross racing.
Rick is survived by his father, Kenneth Heikkinen of Watson; sister, Tammy Charles of Cornell; nieces, Samatha Charles, Christine Mulder and Wendy Sustarich; great niece, Elizabeth; uncle, Martin (Shelly) Heikkinen of Watson and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother Marianne.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, September 28,3 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Richard Kenneth Heikkinen will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Father Fran DeGroot officiating.
