LITTLE CHUTE, Wis. — Janet Nelson, 89, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2023. Janet was born on September 24, 1933 to Rueben and Alice (Sipher) Bacon. On September 29, 1951 she was united in marriage to Richard Nelson, and they were married 71 years until Richard passed in 2021, together they enjoyed Polka dancing. Janet retired from Theda Clark after many years working in the lab. She enjoyed camping and crocheting.

Janet is survived by her children, Jean (Jim) Simon, Robert (Diane) Nelson; six grandchildren, Tony (Cristy) Simon, Philip (Krystyn) Simon, Andrew (Andrea) Simon, Lucas (Stacy) Simon, Amber (Louis) Arceo and Brandon (Katie) Nelson; 18 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard and her siblings.

A memorial service for Janet will be held on Saturday, September 9, at 12:30 p.m. Central Time, at the Verkuilen Van Deurzen Funeral Home, 101 Canal St., Little Chute.
