James ‘Jim’ E. King Sr.

Jim was born on July 9, 1934 in Wells, the son of Raymond and Georgene (Schomer) King. He was raised in Gladstone and left school to enlist in the United States Air Force. He was honorably discharged after serving. Jim worked for most of his life as a truck driver, retiring from A&M Express. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to the casino.

Jim is survived by his children, James (Laura) King Jr. of Escanaba, Raymond (Brenda) King of Rapid River, Donna (Jerry) Eis of Escanaba, and Debbie (Bob) McIntyre of Newaygo; sister, Sharon (Emery) Dault of Illinois; grandchildren, Danielle (Larry) Valiquette, Raeanne King, Rian King, Jason (Stephanie) King, Jennifer King, Kim Eis, Brandon (Kelsey) Eis, and Cheryl (Simon) Allaway; great-grandchildren, Addie, Sophie, and Aria Valiquette, Hannah King, Abigail Saup, Jayden King, and Kane and Walker Eis.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, wife Margie Maxine King and siblings Ron (Barb) King, Pat Grimm, Jean (Joe) Allsworth, and infant sister Nancy Lou King.
