ESCANABA -- Catherine Mae (Gallagher) Plank, 79, of Escanaba, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at home after a lengthy illness.
She was born on May 23, 1943 in Escanaba, the daughter of John A. and Alida L. (Newcomb) Gallagher. Catherine spent her youth in Escanaba. After marrying, she and her husband pursued their dreams of living in Alaska.
In later years, she made her home again Escanaba, spending time with family, especially her mother.
She was employed as a valued home health aide, most recently with Community Action, until her retirement.
Catherine is survived by her son, John Williams; siblings, Mary Little, Edward (Patsy) Gallagher, and Patricia (Bill) Latunski; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kelly Jean Williams; and sisters, Clara Plave and Barbara McDonough.
Visitation will be on Friday, April 21 from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Rick Courier officiating at the Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S. 13th St., Escanaba.
