Daniel R. ‘Dan’ Aylward
GREEN BAY, Wis. — Daniel R. “Dan” Aylward, age 67, of Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly at his home Tuesday, February 21, 2023. He was born April 3, 1955 in Marquette, Mich., son of the late James W. Aylward and Derelys “Skip” (Beth) Skaggs.
Dan enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he proudly served his country and earned his GED. He later continued his education in training to be a welder/fabricator. Dan was proud of the work he did at the companies at which he was employed throughout his career in Michigan and Wisconsin.
Dan was great at fixing things and was a very knowledgeable resource. He was the person everyone came to for advice on repairs and helped anyone in need. His kind and generous nature was admired by his children. Dan was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed fishing. Sunday football was his favorite thing to watch and he always cheered on the Packers. He had a soft spot in his heart for animals, especially his many beloved canine companions he had throughout the years. Dan was a proud family man and loved his kids and grandkids.
Daniel is survived by his children, Daniel J., Shaylynn (Robbie Collins), Molly and Keegan (Monica) Aylward; five grandchildren, Hunter, Cody, Madelynn, Abigail and Alessandra; his sister, Colleen (Duane) Bolduc; and special nephews and nieces, Brian Marshall, Serena Kasper, James Bolduc, Erin and Adam (Jazmin) Maki and a sister-in-law, Sandy Aylward.
He was preceded in death by brother, James Aylward, two grandsons, Alexander and Luke and the mother of his children, Beverly Sanville.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay), Friday, March 3, from 4 to 6 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. with military honors performed by American Legion Post #11.
