Adam Andrew Malinowski

HANNAHVILLE — Adam Andrew Malinowski, 87, of Hannahville, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at his home surrounded by his children and great-grandson after a lengthy illness.

He was born on February 23, 1935 in Escanaba, the son of Adam Edward and Besse May (Meshigaud) Malinowski. He was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from Graveraet High School in Marquette.

On August 17, 1965, Adam married the former Agnes Petonquet in Escanaba. She preceded him in death on September 26, 2010.

For the majority of his years, he worked as a dispatcher for Menominee Taxi. He also worked as a cobbler for businesses in both Escanaba and Menominee.

Adam enjoyed painting by numbers, watching the Green Bay Packers and WWE Monday Night Raw, being outdoors, and a cold Busch beer. He especially loved gatherings and opportunities to visit with family and friends. Until his death, he proudly held the title of the oldest tribal member in Hannahville.

Listed among survivors are his children, Debra (Dave) Olson, Adam (MoJo) Malinowski, Tina (Darren) Burns, and Brian (Delores) Malinowski, all of Hannahville; grandchildren, Matthew (Rachel), Lila, and Rochelle Karaja, Jena and Marvin Jr. Mercier, Victoria (Jake) Steinhausen, Tyler, Greg Jr., and Veronica Williams, Heather, Barbara, and Gabrielle Malinowski, Fourwinds Charginghawk, Sky Reiffers, Brianna Malinowski, Waabi Spaque, Antonio Gonzalez, Ellianna, Hannah, Joe, and Raul Larson, and Michael Welch; 33 great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren, Alexa Arrowood and Ozzie Smith.

Adam was preceded in death by his parents, Adam E. and Besse Malinowski; wife, Agnes; and siblings, Mary Jane Blackwell and Thomas Ance.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 9 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. EST at the Hannahville Indian Community Center. Services to follow at 5:30 p.m.
