Victor T. Wolf

BARK RIVER — Victor T. Wolf, age 94, passed away peacefully in the morning hours of Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Cedar Hill Assisted Living and Senior Housing. Born in Ensign, Michigan, he was the son of the late Joseph and Pauline (Stemac) Wolf.

Victor graduated as the Valedictorian, Class of 1945 of the Rapid River High School and attended Michigan State University and received a bachelor of science degree in agriculture. In 1951, he enlisted in the U.S Army and served in the Korean conflict as a field artillery observer and was honorably discharged in 1953. He was employed with Swift and Company, Mead Corporation for 20 years and the Island Resort and Casino until his retirement at age 87.

In addition to working, Victor enjoyed gardening, reading, polka dancing and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and MSU Spartans. He also enjoyed hunting, playing cards, and was known for his jokes, story-telling and being a proud Croatian.

Victor was united in marriage to Joyce A. Wolf on September 15, 1956, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Escanaba. They resided in Milwaukee and St. Paul before eventually moving to Bark River in 1966 where they raised their four sons. They spent over 60 years together at their home.

He is survived by his sons, Timothy (Diane) of Little Elm, Texas, Ted of Iron Mountain, Paul (Tami) of Bark River and Phillip of Kinross. He also is survived by seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and four brothers and sisters and his sister-in-law.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his daughters-in-law Lori and Kristi and four brothers.

The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Gladstone will be assisting the family with the funeral arrangements at a later date.
