Jeannette Kay DeMay

APPLETON, Wis. — Jeannette Kay DeMay, 86, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022 in Appleton, Wis. She was born on September 20,1936. Her parents were Floyd and Eunice Livermore.
Jean spent most of her life in and around Escanaba, Michigan. She graduated from Escanaba High School in 1954. She married John Frederick DeMay on May 13, 1961. He preceded her in death in January of 1970.
She is survived by her children, John (Terri) DeMay of Lake Villa, Ill., Steven (Joanne) DeMay of Appleton, Wis. and Susan Hanmer of Iron River, Mich. Additional family includes grandchildren, Max, Gus, and Ella DeMay, a sister, Eileen Blake, and brother, Duane Livermore both of Escanaba, many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Jean served numerous roles throughout her full life – loving and courageous mother, masterful grandmother, devoted baby sister, favorite aunt/advisor, caring nurse and educator, and hilarious friend. In her 80 plus years, Jean contributed an incredible amount of goodness (in all its forms) to the world.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Paul; brothers, Victor Dahlstrom, Charles Livermore, David Livermore; a sister, Vera Hull, and son-in-law, Michael Hanmer, along with several relatives in the DeMay and Livermore clans.
Jean’s family is very thankful for the support and care she received at the Gardens of Fountain Way assisted living facility and from Heartland Hospice.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 6, from 3 until 5 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Upper Peninsula Nurses Honor Guard will present honors at 4:50 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the DeMay family.
