Edward Howard Jenshak

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Edward Howard Jenshak, 88 of Fort Myers, Fla. and a long time resident in the Escanaba area passed away after a long illness on Nov. 15, 2022.

Ed was born in Green Bay, Wis. on June 6,1934 to Howard and Jennie Jenshak. He attended schools in Green Bay and Escanaba graduating from Esky in 1953. In 1954 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1957. He attended classes at Coverland Commercial and Bay de Noc Community College and in 1959 was hired at the Escanaba Paper Co. where he worked until his retirement in 1996.

Ed’s hobbies included bowling, baseball, hunting, fishing, canoeing and cross country skiing. A love of travel took him and his wife to many parts of Europe and the U S.

ED is survived by his wife, the former Barbara Borden who he married in 1958. Together they raised their five children, Donna (Patrick) DeLaire, Fort Meyers, Fla., Diane (Robert) Charon of Racine, Wis., Ann (Scott) Swan, Litchfield Park, Ariz. and son, James of Menominee, Mich.; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and one brother, Robert.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Lorie Marie and brothers Donald, Roger, David and Gary.

Of Lutheran faith, Ed will be laid to rest in the Lakeview Cemetery in Escanaba in the spring of 2023 at the convenience of the family.
