Verna M. Krysheski

WILSON — Verna M. Krysheski, 58, of Wilson, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Hospital.

Verna was born on October 2, 1963 in Escanaba, the daughter of Thomas and Alice (McCullough) Wandahsega. She was raised in Hannahville and attended Bark River-Harris Schools. She went on to earn an associates degree from Bay Mills Community College.

She married Ronald Krysheski in Bay Mills. He preceded her in death.

Verna previously worked as a blackjack dealer at the Island Resort and Casino and as a cashier at the Island Oasis.

She enjoyed bowling, playing pool, and taekwondo. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, rummage sales, and dancing, especially the jig! She had an appreciation for nature and liked gardening. Verna was very proud of the fact that she named Hannahville School, Nah Tah Wahsh.

Among survivors are her children, Kendall Wandahsega, Gregory Williams Jr., and Veronica Williams; grandchildren, Kendra Wandahsega, Keanon Wandahsega, Dae’a Sagataw, Debrianna Sagataw, Lillyann Sagataw, and Giavanna Williams; two great-grandchildren with one on the way; and siblings, Warren (Vicki) Wandahsega, Elaine Meshigaud, Alma Wandahsega, and Rosalind Wandahsega.

Verna was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Alice Wandahsega; husband, Ronald Krysheski; and William McCullough, Thomas Wandahsega Jr., Sally Eichhorn-Halfaday, Timothy Wandahsega, LeRoy Wandahsega Sr., Donna Boda, Cecelia Wandahsega, Joseph Wandahsega, Theodore Wandahsega Sr., Russell Wandahsega, Darrel Wandahsega, Patsy Wandahsega, and Norma Bennett.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 15 beginning at 4 p.m. at the Hannahville Indian Community Center. The funeral service will follow on Monday, May 16 at 10 a.m.
