Linda Mary Ryan-Sovey

She was born on March 20, 1954 in Escanaba and was raised in Harris Mich. Linda graduated from Bark River High School in 1972 and attended Bay College.

Linda shared nearly 50 years with the love of her life, Timothy Sovey.

Over the years, Linda worked at Mead Paper, Island Resort and Casino, and Lakestate Industries until she was forced to retire because of health issues.

She loved gardening, antiquing, working with the kids at Lakestate Industries, and being with family and friends. Linda loved her dogs, Bear and Willow.

Among survivors are her husband, Timothy; brother, Kelly (Ann) Ryan of Leesburg, Fla.; sisters, Judy (Wilson) Davis of Bark River and Peggy (Thomas) Ryan Ross of Skandia; five nieces and nephews, Bill (Dana) Ryan of Harris, Tina (Bart) Buckland of Cornell, Bryan Davis of Colorado, Carrie (Mike) Usera of Virginia, and Ian Ryan- Ross of Skandia. She is also survived by her uncle, David (Lynn) Chernick of Escanaba and Auntie Olga DeGrand; brothers and sisters in-law, Leroy Sovey, Leon Sovey, Terry Sovey, Bonnie (Karl) Kutz, Victoria Bullard, Connie (Alan) Ettenhofer, Brenda Mott, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Helen (Chernick) Ryan; nephew, Duncan Ryan-Ross; aunts, Jean DeGrand, Barbara Phalen, Ann Pinozek, Irene Chernick, Marge Peterson, Dorothy Schultz, Arvilla Johnson, and Mary Mctrath; uncles, Nicholas Chernick, John Chernick, Wesley Chernick, Herbert Ryan, Donald Ryan, John Ryan, and Francis Ryan.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Bark River. Burial will immediately follow in the Bark River Township Cemetery.
