CARNEY — Sadie May Watson, 15, of Carney, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at OSF St. Francis Hospital as the result of injuries sustained in a side-by-side accident.

She was born on February 22, 2007, in Escanaba, the daughter of Timothy and Tara (Mileski) Watson. Sadie was raised in Bark River and attended Bark River School for all of her elementary school years. For the past two years, her family has resided in the Carney area. She has been attending the Phoenix Alternative High School Program for the past year. Sadie loved going to school and got involved with everything that she could while being there.

Sadie had a free spirit and was a caring teenager that everyone loved and adored. She was very generous with giving out hugs and saying “I love you,” which always lifted the spirits of others. Her love of singing and dancing always led to many TikTok’s, which she enjoyed making. She was actively involved with the Hoofprints of Hope Program where she helped with farm chores, horse riding lessons, and training. Sadie loved horses, especially “Cowboy,” but she was a friend to all animals.

Survivors include her parents, Tim and Tara Watson of Carney; siblings, Cody (Amaya) Mileski, Brianna Mileski, Jordan Mileski, and Tayden Watson, who Sadie always enjoyed being the mother hen to; nephews, Mattue and Karson; grandparents, Mary Jane “Nena” Hyslop, Gary Paul “Papa” Mileski, Cecil “Grandpa Apples”, and Constance “Connie Ma” Watson; her special Auntie Amber and her Uncle Brandon; and many others aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Theresa Mekelburg and Cal and Jean Hyslop; cousin, Mandy Jane Mileski; and many aunts and uncles.

A celebration of Sadie’s life will be held on Saturday, April 23 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Bark River Senior Center. Food and refreshments will be served.
