Thomas Lee ‘Tommy’ LaMarche

ESCANABA — Thomas Lee “Tommy” LaMarche, 80, of Escanaba, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on May 1, 1941 in Escanaba, son to Lawrence Lee and Verna May (Anderson) LaMarche. Tommy attended Escanaba schools and served in the U.S. Army from October 9, 1958 until his honorable discharge on October 5, 1960.

Over the years, Tommy worked a variety of jobs including Harnischfeger until their closure, he owned and operated LaMarche Trucking and then LaMarche Construction with his brother, Bill. In 2015, Tommy retired from the maintenance department for Dagenais Enterprises.

Tommy enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing. He was a past district commander for the Amvets Post 123.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth LaMarche of Escanaba; children, Larry (Mary) LaMarche and Lorri (Bill) LaMarche of Ford River, Randy (Melody) LaMarche and Fred (Theresa) Hawkings, Tena (Greg) DeMars, Bill Hawkings all of Wisconsin and Jason (Amy) Hawkings of Michigan; grandchildren, Shannon, Justin, Chad, Cassy, Kendal, Krystal, Jake, Zack, Randi Leigh, Brittany, Kayla, Tyler, Billy, Cyndell, Julia, Colton, Kaleb, J.J. and Craig; 33 great grandchildren; siblings, Richard (Diane) LaMarche, William LaMarche, Donald (Cindy) LaMarche, and Ted (Cindy) LaMarche; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Tim LaMarche; brother, Robert LaMarche; sisters, Shirley Prim and Beverly Utt; brothers-in-law, Vern Sayles and George Spencer, and David LaMarche.

In keeping with his wishes, private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
