Howard E. (Howie) Larson

ZIMMERMAN, Minn. — Howard E. (Howie) Larson, son of Robert (Bob) and Flora(Verhamme) Larson, passed away at his home in Zimmerman, Minnesota on December 12, 2021.

Howard was born and raised in Gladstone, Michigan. He graduated from Gladstone High School in 1963 and enlisted in the military. He served three years in the United States Army, stationed in Germany. Howard married the late Lynn Leonard Larson September 16, 1967, and they resided in Gladstone with their two children. He was employed with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union until his retirement in 1999. Howard always enjoyed being around family and friends. He was always busy doing something through the years such as hunting, horseback riding, skiing, golfing, pool, snowmobiling, truck driving, and being a member of a motorcycle club known as the “U.P. Chief’s.” He enjoyed spending time at his camp in Days River, where he, along with family and lifelong friends, shared a week of fun and memories every hunting season for close to 50 years. In his later years, he spent much of his time playing on his tractor and keeping his dogs occupied. His dog, Bella, had been a permanent fixture on his lap and by his side for the greater part of the last decade.

Howard is survived by his partner of almost 40 years, Tammy Needham, son Brant (Bobbie) Larson, Mike Needham, daughter Rhonda (Albert) Rousseau, sister Helen (Gary) Micheau, sister-in-law Joanie Larson, grandchildren Alex Larson, Adam Larson, Nathan Rousseau, Nick Rousseau, and Ella Needham, great-granddaughter Kinzley Larson, nieces Daney and Linda, and nephews Bob, Jim, and Troy. He was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Flora Larson, brother Jim Larson, sister Connie Larson, sister Pat Goodman and brother-in-law Jeff Goodman.

In honor of his wishes, the family would like to invite friends to join them on January 15, 2022 at 1 p.m. at 5659 25th Rd. Gladstone, MI 49837 for food, refreshments and to share stories and memories of a very special man.
