Judith ‘Judy’ Ann Burns

MANITOWOC, Wis., — Judith “Judy” Ann Burns

September 12, 1952 — November 11, 2021

Judy Burns, age 69, a resident of Manitowoc, Wis., passed away peacefully Friday morning November 11, 2021. Judy fought a long, courageous battle with multiple sclerosis.

Judy was a Virgo, born on September 12, 1952, in Escanaba, to late Charles and Beatrice “Jeanette” (Dubord) Lane. She moved to Wisconsin in 2015 to be closer to her daughters who had relocated to the area. Judy was a devoted mother, and her daughters were her greatest accomplishment.

Judy will be remembered as a witty, free-spirited woman who always knew how to find the humor in life. She enjoyed listening to music and dancing, and we believe she can dance again, now leaving her wheelchair named “Willy” behind. The good times and memories shared with Judy are forever treasured by many.

Survivors include her daughters, Sara Lane and Bonny Coupar; son-in-law, Christoph Coupar; her seven grandsons who know her has “ma,” Tristan Kidd, Francis “Lil Franny” Kidd, Zacharias “Zach” Kidd, Nathaniel Kidd, Isaac Blomberg, Zander Coupar, and Riley Coupar; two brothers and two sisters, Terry Lane, Anthony “Tony” Lane, Linda Lane, and Janice “Jan” Bastian. She cherished her many nieces and nephews — who called her their “favorite auntie.”

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Beatrice “Jeanette” Lane; her two brothers, William “Billy” Lane and Charles “Kelly” Lane; her ex-husband James “Jim” Burns; and a cat named Dolly.

A Life Celebration Social for family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021, beginning at 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the funeral home. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel.

Judy’s family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the staff at Magnolia Meadows Assisted Living Facility and nurse, Jane, from Heartland Hospice.

The family requests memorials to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in honor of Judy Burns.

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc, Wis., is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
