Michael James Ottensman
LITTLETON, Colo. — Michael James Ottensman, 62 died peacefully in his sleep the morning of October 4, 2021 at his sisters home in Littleton, Colorado after a long battle with cancer.
Mike was born on Dec. 19, 1958 in Escanaba, to Donna (Berthaume) Ottensman and James Ottensman. He graduated from Escanaba Area High School, Class of 1977.
Mike had served at K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base for 11 years.
Mike had been living in Aurora, Colorado and was an over the road truck driver where got to travel the county, which he absolutely loved.
Mike was a total sports fanatic, especially to watch his “Pittsburgh Steelers.”
Mike was preceded in death by his father, James Ottensman.
He is survived by his son Jayson Ottensman, Colorado; daughter, Jennifer Haglund of Skandia, Mich. and son David Halverson of Ishpeming, Mich. and his three grandchildren in Willard, Ohio; mother, Donna Schmieder, Escanaba; siblings, sisters Marie (Gary) Pultz, Michelle Ottensman, Gladstone, brother, David Ottensman of Littleton, Colorado. Also many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephew.
Mike will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Mike will be buried at Fort Logan Cemetery in Denver, Colorado and a small service will be in Escanaba later in November. The family asks that donations be made to cancerreserch.org or you can have a mass said for him.
