Darlene P. Carlson

OSHKOSH, Wis. — Darlene P. Carlson, age 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at The Courtyard Assisted Living Home in Oshkosh Wis.

Darlene was born May 11, 1938, in Perkins, Mich, the daughter of Adelore and Bernice (Delaire) LaCosse. On April 28, 1977, Darlene was united in marriage to Carl B. Carlson and together they shared 32 years of marriage. Darlene was a devoted member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Escanaba.

Darlene had a fierce love for her children and would do anything for their happiness. She gifted many people with her talents in knitting, embroidery, needlepoint and crafting. She had a passion for cleaning which helped many elderly people who loved how she did this in such a caring way. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and left them with so many wonderful memories. She had a spunky and humorous personality that brought a smile and a chuckle to everyone she met. She loved to work in the garden with her husband and then sit in the yard to enjoy the fruits of their labor. It gave her great joy to entertain family at home for holidays and celebrations. She had an amazingly strong spirit with love and compassion for everyone she met. She will be greatly missed.

Darlene is survived by her children Rick (Christine Launderville) Mineau of Escanaba, Tim Mineau of Gladstone, Cynthia Gezella of Oshkosh and David Mineau of Escanaba, brothers Wayne (Sandra) LaCosse and Danny (Donna) LaCosse both of Escanaba, grandchildren Kelly (Chris) Tarmann, Kristie (Shaun) Marczak, Matthew (Fiancé Kelly Schofield) Casey, Stephen Casperson, and Gracelynn Mineau and her mother Nikki Cole, great-grandchildren Caleb Tarmann, Connor Tarmann, Taylor Tarmann, Emma Marczak, and Jack Marczak. Darlene is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl Carlson, sisters Judy Stemick, Lorraine Porath, and Jane Brazeau, and brother Joe LaCosse.

Family will receive friends on Monday, July 26, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Escanaba with Priest Nancy Olexick officiating. Darlene will be laid to rest in Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
