Carl Roger Anderson

ESCANABA — Carl Roger Anderson, age 79, of Escanaba, passed away Monday evening, June 7, 2021 at U.P. Health System – Marquette. He was born on June 28, 1941 in Escanaba, the son of Carl and Ethel (Goodnough) Anderson. Carl was raised and attended school in Escanaba where he graduated with the Escanaba High School Class of 1959. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a crane operator. Carl returned from the service to Milwaukee, Wis. and was employed as a welder at Enryco. He then was a boiler room attendant at St. Luke’s Medical Center until his retirement. Carl married the former Phyllis Collier and she preceded him in death on May 1, 2008. Together, the couple shared many wonderful years of marriage and raised two sons, William and James. Carl enjoyed bowling and golfing.

He is survived by two sons, William (Vanessa) Anderson of Jacksonville, Fla., and James (Laura) Anderson of Milwaukee, Wis.; three grandchildren, Gabriella, Jasmine, and Samuel; brother, David (Maryann) Anderson of Gladstone; sisters, Janet Kwarciany of Ford River, Sharon (Bob) Griffin of Escanaba, and Chris (Jim) Deacon of Gladstone; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Carl was preceded in death by his sisters, Margie LaCosse, Ethel Jean LaCarte, and Judith Pearson; and brothers, John Anderson, and William Anderson.

Visitation will be held from 12 to 2 p.m., Friday, June 11, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Military honors will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday by the Delta County Veterans Council in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will take place in Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, WI.
