BARK RIVER — Jack Lee Posenke, age 76, of Bark River (Riverland area), passed away Tuesday morning, April 6, 2021, at his home with his wife, Mary, by his side. He was born on June 4, 1944, in Escanaba, the son of Ormal and Elaine (Coulliard) Posenke. Jack was raised one of six kids in Rock where he also attended school. He moved to Escanaba and began his working career in construction with Snowden’s. He later worked at Robinson’s Furniture Factory in Wilson for many years until he lastly worked with Emerson’s in Marinette until his health declined and he retired. He married the former Mary Carlson on July 16, 1988, at the Munising Waterfalls. Together, the couple shared 32 years of marriage. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors — especially working in his garden. Jack and his wife, Mary, were very well known at the local Escanaba Farmer’s Market for selling their garlic, onions, jams, and crafts for over 25 years. Jack was a longtime member of the U.P. Steam and Gas Engine Association and would bring his tractor to the show each year.
