Ashley Renee Martin

Ashley was born October 27, 1993, in Escanaba, the daughter of Heidi (David) Bruce and David (Vicki) Griggs Jr. She was raised in Rapid River and Gladstone and was a 2012 graduate of Gladstone High School. On August 7, 2015, Ashely was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Harley Martin, and together the couple made their home in Escanaba. Ashley was a kind-hearted, fun-loving soul who loved life and everything it had to offer. She adored her animals and loved to spoil them and everyone in her life. She was such a selfless and loving woman to everybody around her, whether you had just met her or known her for years. She always had this aura about her where she would walk into the room and it would light up. If she ever saw you were struggling through a difficult time in your life, she would always be there to lend you a helping hand. Ashley just had an ability to reach people in such a caring way. Ashley loved spending time with her family and her friends, loved to listen to music, and especially just loved to hang around the house and play video games and have a fun time if friends were over. Ashley truly lived life to the fullest, she always made a get-together with family even more fun because of her presence. Ashley will be deeply missed by all but we will hold onto a lifetime of memories we have of her.

In addition to her loving husband Harley, Ashley is survived by: parents, Heidi (David) Bruce of Gladstone and David (Vicki) Griggs Jr. of Hermansville; brother, Ryan (Nicole) Griggs of Kewaunee; grandparents, Allen and Diane Johnson of Stonington, and Debbie Griggs of Rapid River; mother-in-law, Theresa Martin of Gladstone.

Ashley is further survived by her aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A memorial gathering will be held at the convenience of Ashley’s family.
