Debra Jo Rossi

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Debra Jo Rossi – On Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, Debra Jo Rossi found her wings after a courageous two year battle with melanoma. She left her loved ones to share Valentines Day with her love, Mark Rossi.

Family mattered more than anything. Her love for her mother, children, grandchildren and siblings fulfilled her life. She loved to sit on the floor and play with grandson Jayce and hear about the adventurous stories of teenage granddaughter Alysa. She had various skills from decorating, planning, entertaining, cooking big meals and loved family get togethers. During a recent visit with her mom, two homemade pies were made while reminiscing how much Dad loved strawberry rhubarb pies. Facebook was her way of keeping in touch, especially during the last couple of years, with family who were scolded if updates were not posted.

Deb’s caring ways always put others first. Up to the end, her concern was to comfort family, not herself. She had a kind and gentle way with her siblings and especially her mom. Her kids, the loves of her life, Ericia and Jeremiah were by her side, walking hand in hand with her through her courageous battle of ups and downs.

Deb leaves behind daughter, Ericia (Casey) Lemhouse, son, Jeremiah Johnson; mother, Theresa Akerley; siblings, Bill (Kathy) Akerley, Dale (Julie) Akerley, Jerry Akerley and Tammy Dubord; grandchildren, Alysa Broemer and Jayce Lemhouse; along with many loved nieces and nephews.

She will be greeted at heaven’s gate by her father, Bill Akerley; nephew, Clinton Stone; and her love, Mark Rossi. Our angel has left us to spread her wings and ride the clouds where there is no longer pain or sickness. During her final days there were numerous cardinals seen and the family knew she is now at peace.

At Deb’s request her remains will be cremated. There will be a celebration of life this spring. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Ryan and staff at Green Bay Oncology for their excellent work and loving care as well as the staff at Unity Hospice.
