Mary Ann Sauve

ESCANABA — Mary Ann Sauve, of Escanaba, passed away December 9, 2020, peacefully, at Bishop Noa Home. She was 87.

The daughter of Donald and Augusta (Reubens) Roberts Sr. The former Mary Ann Roberts married John G. Sauve on May 23, 1953 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Flat Rock. John and Mary Ann celebrated 67 years of marriage.

Mary Ann was an extremely talented homemaker who cherished family time. She loved to host holiday gatherings, baking, picnics in the park, traveling, crocheting, sleepovers with her grandkids and picture taking!

Above all Mary Ann was a woman of deep faith. Her faith in the Lord guided her throughout her life in wisdom, compassion, forgiveness and the ability to love all. She was a genuine person who loved spreading Joy. She will be missed by many.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband, John; children, James P. (Carol) Sauve, Mary B. (Robert J) Petersen- Magnuson and Gary J. (fiancée Jan); grandchildren; Mary Beth, Roy (Amanda), Sara (Lucian), Marayha (Nate), Stephanie (Max), Mikala (Joey), Sam (Meghan) and Pete; 20 great grandchildren; sister, Lorraine Tourangeau; brother, Donald (Carol) Roberts; sister-in-law, Linda Roberts; and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald (Augusta) Roberts Sr.; brothers; Jimmy, Stanley and Clarence Roberts; brothers-in-law, Eugene Tourangeau and Bob (Lillian) Sauve; son -in-law, Robert G. “Bob” Petersen; daughter-in-law, Mary Joan Sauve; niece, Kimmy Roberts; and best friend and first cousin, Betty (Roberts) Bergeon.

John 14, verses 1 thru 4.

“Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God, believe also in Me.

“In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go and prepare a place for you.”

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

“And where I go you know, and the way you know” Thomas said to Him, “Lord we do not know where You are going and how can we know the way?”

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth and the life.”
