Lola R. Pasino
BARK RIVER — Lola R. Pasino, age 82, of Gladstone, passed away peacefully Monday morning, November 16, 2020, at Cedar Hill Assisted Living.
Lola was born March 25, 1938, in Forest, Indiana, the daughter of Jesse and Ruth (Bolinger) Flickinger. Lola grew up in Garden Corners, and graduated from Cooks high school. On September 15, 1956, Lola was united in marriage to her late husband Richard (Dick) A. Pasino, and together they shared 57 years of wonderful memories.
Lola worked as the attendance lady for the Escanaba Area High School and secretary at Franklin Elementary School for a number of years before retiring. Lola also was a master quilter, and won many blue ribbons for her quilts at state fairs. She also was a member of the local quilting clubs. But Lola’s true joy was her family. She was a very involved grandma, and always made it to her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting events, band concerts, dance recitals, and other special occasions. She didn’t always understand the game but she still cheered for whoever was playing. Lola also loved to make delicious meals and treats for her family and friends. They most loved her molasses cookies, apple squares, banana bread and chili. She will be deeply missed by so many.
Lola is survived by daughter Cathy (Rickey) Mercier, sons David Pasino, Dale (Judi) Pasino, Daniel Pasino, Doug (Bonnie) Pasino, and Dean Pasino, and sisters Lois (Larry) Thibault and Janet Bonarski, eight grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Lola was preceded in death by her husband Richard(Dick) Pasino, parents Jesse and Ruth Flickinger, sister Virginia VanDyck, and brother in laws Dick Bonarski and Joe VanDyck.
Private services honoring Lola will be held with Pastor Lewis Hague officiating. Lola will be laid to rest in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells.
