Florence (Bin) E. Peterson

She was born Feb. 27, 1930 in East Chicago, Ind. daughter of Albert and Octavie (Goodreau) Hereau. As a young girl, her family moved to the Schaffer area and later to Soo Hill. On Oct. 27, 1951 she married Carl L. Peterson of Soo Hill, and together they made their home and started their family in Soo Hill. In her life, Florence was employed as a cook assistant at the Soo Hill School, she was also a care provider for her mother late in her life as well as cared for her brother, Richard in the last years of his life. She was a full-time homemaker and mother to her three children and loving grand- and great-grandmother to her three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Carl of 69 years; her daughters, Linda (Gary) Swanson of Soo Hill, Bonnie Carignan of Ralph; son, Leonard of Soo Hill; grandchildren, Jamie (Beth) Peterson of Escanaba, Shannon (Timo) Brandstetter of Winchester, Va., and Eric Peterson of Soo Hill; and three great-grandchildren, Gabe, Jack, and Ty Peterson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Victor, Gordon, and Richard; and her daughter-in-law, Gail Peterson.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are helping the family with final arrangements. At the request of the family, there will be no public services.

The family wants to thank the employees of Christian Park and the care they provided for Florence over these last four years. Our thanks and appreciation especially to Drew, Tammy, Lauren, Racheal, Holly, Steve, Aaron and Dani. Their constant love, compassion and care through this difficult time has brought great peace and calmness to the entire family.
