Dennis D. Erickson

A native of Delta County, Dennis was born in Escanaba on June 13, 1945, the son of Arthur and Mae (Flath) Erickson. Dennis was raised in Ford River and graduated from Escanaba High School.

He served in the United States Army from Aug. 29, 1963 until his honorable discharge on Aug. 26, 1966.

On, Dec. 31, 1987, Dennis married Darlene Johnson in Escanaba.

Dennis was employed as a color plant operator with Mead Paper until his retirement.

He enjoyed being in the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Dennis was a Detroit sports fan and liked to play poker.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene of Wells; daughter, Morgan (Paul) Derouin of Chesterfield, Mich.; grandchildren, Nolan and Blake Derouin, both of Chesterfield, Mich.; siblings, Donna Degnan of Ford River, Sharon (Dale) Demars of Escanaba and Sue Hartman of Roscommon, Mich.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Al Erickson: sister, Judy Olmstead; and brothers-in-law, Mike Degnan and John Hartman.

In keeping with Dennis’ wishes, no services will be held.
