She was raised in a simple and hardworking family, which taught her to be a compassionate, caring, hardworking person who enjoyed every day to its fullest. Susie was fun loving person who cared about everyone she met. Her door was always open to all that came. Her coffee pot was always on or the beer was always cold. Especially with her “Suds Sister Sam.” In her early years, Susie enjoyed camping with her brothers, sisters, and their families, which resulted in a great family bond. Susie enjoyed spending time hunting, cutting firewood, sitting around bonfires, and taking a sauna at the camp that her husband, herself, and family built in McFarland where everyone was always welcome. Susie was an excellent cook who catered to all of her family, friends and unexpected guests, sending goodies home with all who came to visit. Susie was also was a very “green thumb” gardener who was very proud of her beautiful flowers and gardens, admired by all. She loved feeding the birds, with a special love of Humming birds, which she always had a swarm. Susie enjoyed scratching lottery tickets since she was always winning on them. She was very proud of her Finnish heritage since she was 100% Finn. She was a lady of simple means, all she needed in her life was her family. Susie especially doted on her grandchildren. She was loved by all that met her and had a great sense of humor with a little bit of mischief in her. Susie would always lend an ear and a shoulder to cry on. Susie graduated from Rock High School with the Class of 1970. Shortly after, she met the love of her life, Marvin Connors, and together tied the knot on March 3, 1971 and raised a loving family. Susie was very proud to be the wife of a Marine Corp. Vietnam Veteran who served his country proudly.
