Eleanor Pearl Weber

MANISTIQUE — Eleanor Pearl Weber, age 96 of Manistique, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 26, 2020, at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born the daughter of James and Estelle (Gale) Bonini on July 17, 1924, in Hubbell, Mich.

Eleanore went to LaCrosse, Wis., and helped with the war effort during World War II, at which time she met and married her husband, Robert J. Weber, on September 14, 1946. They moved to Manistique where they raised their family and spent 67 years together until his passing on January 8, 2014.

Eleanore spent her years raising the family and working as a librarian at the Manistique School and Public Library for many years. She was very artistic and could make just about anything on a sewing machine, or by knitting. She knitted many lap robes and donated them to the Medical Care Facility Patients over the years. She also enjoyed baking and cooking, especially big family meals! She was well known for her beautiful gardens and flower boxes and outdoor decorations. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church where she also enjoyed working on the Pasty team monthly until she was no longer able. She loved spending time with the kids, especially her grandkids.

Eleanore is survived by her sons, Rodney (Gayle) Weber, Gary (Carol) Weber, and Scott Weber; daughter, Noreen (Robert) Hinkson; grandchildren, Michael (Mary) Weber, Mitchell (Nicole) Weber, Mia (Dave) Kemppainen, Elizabeth (Chris) Parizo, Ryan (April) Weber, Ezekiel Weber, Elletta Weber, Elijah Weber, Jedidiah Weber, Jeremy (Heather) Hinkson, Jennie (Troy) Baker, and Joseph (Casey) Hinkson; 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Roy Bonini. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Robert; brothers, Albert, James, and Charles; sisters, Ruth, Alberta, Frances, and Lilian; and daughter-in-law, Kathy Pistulka-Weber.

Memorial services will be held at a later date at Lake Linden where she will be laid to rest with her husband. Memorial contributions in Eleanore’s name may be directed to the Northwoods Home Nursing and Hospice program at 226 South Cedar Street, Manistique, MI 49854.
