Albert A. Larson Jr.

WILSON — Albert A. Larson Jr., 65, of Wilson, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020, at William S. Middleton Veteran Hospital in Madison, Wis., following some lingering health issues.

He was born on April 24, 1955, in Daggett, Mich., son of Albert A. and Delores M. (Wandahsega) Larson Sr. With his dad in the construction business, their family moved often for jobs. But he always loved Shawano and Milwaukee, Wis., and being in Michigan the best.

Albert retired from his career as a Marine and then returned to Wisconsin where he started his family.

In his younger high school years, he was very athletic and excelled in track. He loved four wheeling, woodworking, sitting around a fire, and was a very competitive cribbage player. He was a pool shark and enjoyed being involved with pool and dart leagues. But most importantly, Albert loved his family and was a “dad” and “grandpa” figure to many of the kids in the Hannahville Community.

Among survivors are his children, Michael Larson of Milwaukee, Emerson Larson of Wilson, Amberley (Charles) VanEnkenvoort of Shawano, Wis., and James “Jimmy” and Joel LeHouillier of Shawano; three grandchildren, Charli, Atticus and Sawyer; siblings, Nelson (Debbie) Larson, Janet Larson, Rhoda Larson, Karen Larson, Douglas (Cheryl) Larson, Linda Larson, Donna (William) Viers, Daniel Jackson and Anna Larson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Pamela Jackson; brother, Mark Larson; and the mother of his children, Kathleen LeHouillier.

Visitation will take place on Monday, June 8, beginning at 4 p.m. at the Hannahville Community Center in Wilson. The funeral service will follow on Tuesday, June 9, at 10 a.m. with Sonny Smart and Dona Yahola officiating.
