Robert Charles ‘Chuck, Charlie’ Cass

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Robert Charles “Chuck, Charlie” Cass, 59, of Green Bay, Wis. passed away on April, 18, 2020 in the caring hands of Unity Hospice, DePere, Wis.

Chuck was born July, 13, 1960 in Sault Saint Marie, Mich. to Sally (Hay) Rae of Escanaba and the late Robert Cass. Chuck’s father was Tech Sgt Airman in the Airforce, and the family lived in many areas including California, Alabama, Illinois, Gwinn and Escanaba. Chuck graduated from Escanaba Area High School in 1979 and went on to graduate from Bay de Noc Community College with a degree in machine technology. Chuck enlisted in the Airforce in 1987, but received an honorable medical discharge later that year. In 1987, Chuck married Cindy Mosier; they had one son. Chuck worked for several area business including Robinson Furniture, Northern Michigan Veneer, New Page/Verso Paper Mill, retiring in 2010 after suffering a heart attack. He later fulfilled his dream of moving to Green Bay, Wis. to live with his son. Chuck’s happiest moments was the time he spent with his son riding 4-wheelers, boating/fishing and watching TV.

Chuck is survived by his son Keenan, Green Bay, Wis.; Keenan’s mom Cindy (Mosier) Cass, Escanaba; Chuck’s mother Sally (Hay) Rae, Escanaba, Mich.; brothers, James (Jennifer) Cass, Kingman, Ariz.; Patrick (Mary) Cass, Escanaba; sister, Debbie (Randy) Heider, Escanaba; Donald (Debbie) Rae, Oshkosh, Wis.; Dave (Judy) Rae, Trinidad, Col.; Jim Rae, Escanaba; Becki (Michael) Pouliot, Gladstone; Kitty (Todd) Gartland, Escanaba; paternal aunt MaryAnn Smolucha, Chicago, Ill; many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends Mark “Tunes” LaFave, Fort Myers Beach, Fla., and Dave Sexton, Edmonton, Ky.

Chuck was preceded in death by his father Robert M. Cass, stepfather Donald (Peno) Rae, stepsister Dawn (Mike) Taylor, stepbrother Bobby Rae and sister-in-law Alisa Rae, and nephew Patrick Cass.

Due to COVID-19, there will no immediate funeral services, but a memorial service celebrating Chuck’s life will be held at a later date.
