Rosalia ‘Rosie’ Marie Schroeder

POWERS — Rosalia “Rosie” Marie Schroeder, 94, passed away in the evening on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020, at her home in Powers.

She was born on Nov. 8, 1925, in Iron Mountain, daughter of Harry J. and Rose Ann (Nelson) Dumas. The family moved to Hyde where she attended the Kasten School, she moved to Bark River in 1941, had lived in Wilson for 45 years and moved to Powers in 1993.

Rosie was a loving, generous person who helped many children in need and helped raise them. She was a much-loved lady.

On Aug. 21, 1948, Rosie married John Arthur Schroeder at Sacred Heart Church in Schaffer.

She was employed as a cook at Pinecrest Medical Care facility for 20 years, retiring in 1975.

Among survivors include many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; sisters, Mrs. Donald (Viola) Cadmon, Mrs. Vernon (Lily Mae) Good and Mrs. Donald (Juanita) Miller; brothers, Robert and Roger Dumas.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15, from 11 a.m. to noon Central Time at St. John Neumann Church in Spalding. St. Anne Society Rosary will be recited at 11:45 a.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon with Rev. Edward Baffi officiating. Burial will take place in Spalding Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Michigan. Envelopes will be available at the church.
