D. Jeanette Reno

She was born and raised in Salisbury, Md., on March 7, 1929, daughter of Clarence and Nellie (Thiele) Short.

On Feb. 1, 1952, she married Allen R. Reno in Berlin, Md. He preceded her in death on Feb. 24, 2013.

She was a homemaker who cherished raising and taking care of her three sons. She enjoyed playing bridge, crocheting, knitting and sewing.

Jeanette was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church.

Survivors include her sons, Michael (Pam) Reno and Steven (Jackie) Reno; grandchildren, Tony (Terri), Tammy, Nathan (Amy), Kathryn (Geoff Hartmann), Andrew and Cordelia Mae (Cory) (Coulliard) (Darren) Jaeske; great-grandchildren, Cristian, Dominic, Kathleen (Kevin) Geiger; great-great-grandchildren, Wyce and Wyatt; sister, Bertha (Short) Parsons; special friend Dan Robitaille and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jeanette is preceded in death by her son, Joseph; and siblings, Clarence “Shorty” Edward Short Jr., Nellie Louise Sutton and Ruth Elizabeth Parsons.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 30, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S. 13th St. Escanaba. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 5 p.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church with Rev. Rick Courier officiating.

Entombment will take place in Gardens of Rest Mausoleum.
