Paul H. Dittrich

FORD RIVER — Paul H. Dittrich, 65, Ford River area, passed away on Oct. 1, 2019, at his home in the presence of his family. Paul was born on Sept. 18, 1954, in Escanaba, son of the late Clarence and Evelyn (Olson) Dittrich.

Paul graduated from Escanaba High School and then made his career with the railroad. He was loved by many friends and always had a joke to tell. Paul was very caring and generous, the type of guy that would give a stranger the shirt off his back. He was an avid outdoorsman, and also enjoyed working on various projects in his garage. He also enjoyed cooking, hunting morel mushrooms, gathering with friends and family, and cheering on his favorite team, the Green Bay Packers!

Paul is survived by his daughters, Sarah (Brad) Argall and Cally (Alex Plouff) Dittrich; sisters, Jackie (David) Bruce and Jeanne Kivi; brother, Norman (Kathy) Dittrich; grandchildren, Krista, Drew, and Jace; brother-in-law, Brian (Marcy) Cox; several nieces and a nephew, cousins, his “best cousin”: Ron Kremer, and his rescue dog Bonamer.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday Oct. 12, at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home (400 S. 10th St., Escanaba, MI 49829). A funeral to celebrate Paul’s life will follow visitation on Saturday at the funeral home with Fr. Rick Courier officiating.
