Ottilie ‘Ottie’ A. Dimock

ESCANABA — Ottilie “Ottie” A. Dimock, 94, of Escanaba, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, Aug. 28, 2019, at Christian Park Healthcare Center in Escanaba. She was born on July 24, 1925, in Ratibor, Germany, the daughter of Stanislaus and Elisabet (Kuna) Kallus. Ottilie met her husband, Larry Dimock, a handsome G.I. stationed in her hometown of Fulda, Germany. The couple married on Dec. 5, 1957, and made their home in Escanaba, Mich., where they raised their two sons, Richard and James. Ottie spend many years with mentally and physically challenged individuals and later in life as a foster grandparent to elementary school children. She loved to travel and returned to Germany many times, as well as enjoyed bus tours with her husband. Ottie loved to take walks, go to the casino, and adored her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed.

Ottilie A. Dimock is survived by her husband, Larry Dimock of Escanaba; two sons, Richard (Terri) Dimock of Waukesha, Wis., and James (Kathi) Dimock of Escanaba; four grandchildren, Nathan Dimock, Bradley Dimock, Dustin Dimock and Hailey Dimock; sister-in-law, Judy Scott; two nephews and one niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanislaus and Elisabet Kallus; mother and father-in-law, Clyde and Letti Dimock; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Wahl.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Ottilie will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Tom Otis officiating. A luncheon will be served at the conclusion of the services in the church fellowship hall. Burial will take place in Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
