Joseph H. Revers

KIPLING — Joseph H. Revers, 90, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019, at his home in Kipling.

Joe was born Nov. 30, 1928, in Lena, Wis., the son of Joseph and Josephine (Smigelski) Revers. Joe was a graduate of Pulaski High School. Following high school, Joe enlisted in the United States Army where he served until his honorable discharge in June of 1948.

On June 14, 1952, Joe was united in marriage to the former Margaret Jankowski at St. Josephat Church in Milwaukee, and together the couple made their home and raised their family in Greendale, Wis. For the first 20 years of their marriage, Joe was employed at CG Schmidt Construction in Milwaukee. He then worked for Grede Foundry before moving to Kipling in 1979. Joe and Margaret spent many wonderful years together in Kipling. Joe was employed at Yagodzinski Sawmill and enjoyed spending time in his vegetable garden, tending his flower beds, hunting and fishing. He will be deeply missed.

In addition to his loving wife Margaret, Joe is survived by: daughter, Sandra Ann Mathe of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; son-in-law, Peter Bort of Louisiana. Joe is also survived by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Josephine; sons, Michael Joseph and Robert William Revers; daughter, Jane Marie Bort; brother, Anthony Revers; sisters, Irene Janczak and Helen Budzish; son-in-law, Robert Mathe.

Joe’s family will receive friends on Thursday, Aug. 15, from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Military rites will follow at 3 p.m. on Thursday at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone with the Gladstone American Legion August Mattson Post 71 presiding. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 4 p.m. on Thursday at All Saints Church in Gladstone with Rev. Fr. Jamie Ziminski officiating. Luncheon will follow in the All Saints Parish Hall. Joe will be laid to rest in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting with arrangements.
